It is about a one mile walk through the canyon; the labyrinth is on the grounds of a queer affirming church. If you have a history of religious trauma from Christianity, I recommend being discerning about if being on church grounds will feel safe for you with where you are at in your journey. Make sure you have good walking shoes because the trail is steep, slopey, and rocky at some points.
We will walk in silence through the canyon to the labyrinth, walk the labyrinth in silence, and break the silence on our return hike with reflections and hopefully laughter!
There will be an optional group pilgrimage to brunch after the wander.
There will be seasoned space holders present as resources to help ground folks if challenging emotions or memories arise during this contemplative experience
Unfortunately the trail and labyrinth are not accessible by wheelchair :( I hope to host labyrinths walks in the future in spaces that are available for folks of all physical abilities
You are choosing to be outside and on trails which can be unpredictable - I am not liable for any injuries that may occur in this experience, I am just inviting folks to meet up and walk together
Muchas gracias to the good people of The Way Collective Santa Barbara (https://www.waycollective.org) for introducing me to this idea of community labyrinth hikes!
I am so eager to be in the canyons and belly of the labyrinth with you. We were made for this sort of practice of presence and deep togetherness in the cosmos.
