I've been staring at the blank blog template for a few minutes now, at a loss for words for how to begin writing about Jessica and Vera. I met these wonderful women the summer of 2015 when I took their engagement photos. During that shoot, I was deeply struck and moved by their comfort and ease around one another. I photograph people in love for a living, and in my time, there have only been a few couples that stand out to me as much as Jessica and Vera. These women are strong, kind, and resilient; two best friends who fell in love across the country. Jessica and Vera deeply know the power of time and space, as well as the way that love can weave its way through them regardless of impossibility. There isn't much to say besides thank you, you wonderful women. It is an honor to know you both, your story, and now, the beginning of lifelong commitment!
Kellianne and Logan | Cabin Creek Lodge Wedding 8/2/17
I met Kellianne at the beginning of my second year of college; since then, we have remained in one another's circles, watching as we found our partners and grew from bouncy college dorm girls into women. It was a joy to photograph Kellianne and Logan as they committed their lives to each other, as well as dance and feast and swim in the Snoqualmie River in celebration of their love. The balancing act of simultaneously being a vendor and a guest can be tricky, but as their steady, lovely day unfolded, I found myself grounded and thankful and rejoicing. Thank you, dears. Christina and Josiah | Shaw Island Backyard Wedding 8/16/17
Christina reached out to me at the beginning of 2017 asking if I would be interested in shooting her intimate family wedding on Shaw Island; as a photographer, these are the emails you hope and pray to have show up in your inbox someday. The more we talked about her wedding, the more excited I became. And when we finally met up at the beginning of the summer for beers, I knew that Christina and Josiah's wedding was going to be a day I would remember forever. I'll let the images speak for themselves, but from their island florals to their profound, beautiful ceremony (a seven spices ceremony, washing each other's hands in rose water, having lavender and rosemary thrown on them after they were introduced for the first time) to taking a quick jaunt out on a kayak, I don't know what to say but thank you, Christina and Josiah, for the opportunity to document such a sacred and wonderful day (I wish that Austin and I hadn't needed to catch the ferry back so quickly so that we could've celebrated into the evening with you!). Cheers to the rest of your lives, I am so thrilled for your union.

Stacy and Nick | Kelley Farm Wedding 8/11/17
Having the opportunity to work with couples like Stacy and Nick is what makes wedding photography worthwhile and fulfilling in the chaos of the summer season. Their day was full to the brim with color, culture, life, and love. A mariachi band played throughout the ceremony in honor of Stacy's heritage, and a number of traditional Samoan dances were performed during the reception in honor of Nick's. Kendal and Ben | Georgetown, Seattle Wedding 8/12/17
I met Kendal months ago on Queen Anne hill, where we grabbed a cup of coffee at El Diablo and talked photography, tattooing, and the importance of art in our lives. From our first interaction, I knew that capturing her wedding was going to be nothing but ease and fun. From the quirk of their Oxbow Park ceremony, filled with laughter and tears, to dancing kicked off with the "Chicken Dance," Kendal and Ben's day of celebration and commitment was full of color and whimsy. Krista and Christopher | Jardin del Sol Wedding 7/23/17
The sky was grey when my apprentice and I pulled up to Jardin del Sol on the morning of Krista and Christopher's wedding. We briefly discussed using diffusers and playing around with the soft light, but the moment that Krista arrived to the venue, the clouds parted and the sun burst through. All across Jardin del Sol, the flowers seemed to awaken and exude vibrancy for the sacred commitment that would be made that day.

Kat and Aaron | Lake Wilderness Lodge Wedding 7/16/17
I drove up from Portland on the morning of Kat and Aaron’s wedding. The air was crisp and warm and full of mid-July whimsy; as I wound my way through Maple Valley to Lake Wilderness Lodge, my fingers dancing above asphalt with the windows rolled down, I was thankful and settled and glad. It was a sacred day. And when I arrived at the venue, meeting my apprentice Kayley at the front of the lodge, we all immediately jumped into Kat and Aaron’s first look. And the rest of the day was swept away with laughter, deep love, greens and blues of the lake reaching towards the sky, and Mount Rainier emerging from a veil of cloud.

Hannah and Ben | Magness Tree Farm Wedding 7/15/17
It was a very warm 85 degrees on the day Hannah and Ben committed their lives to one another; summer light slid through the trees around their venue, dappling the forest floor with emerald pools and the promise of life ahead. We drank Moscow Mules and sat in the shade of cabins, and we laughed, and we rejoiced. Cheers, Hannah and Ben. It is an honor to have documented your wedding day. Kate and Jacob | Laurel Creek Manor Wedding 5/27/17
Kate and Jacob's wedding day glowed. The warm, end of May sun beckoned in their commitment and the evening glittered with the dancing of young children and bright petals. Brittney and Taylor | Newport Beach Wedding 4/30/17
I have known Taylor since we were twelve years old, so you can imagine my joy when he told me that he was interested in booking me as him and Brittney's wedding photographer. In December, I met Brittney for the first time on a gloomy day in Laguna Beach, but immediately, I knew that working with the two of them would be full of goodness and light.
Brittney and Taylor were married on a glorious springtime Southern California day, the perfect, unusual balance of gentle seaside wind and bright, warm sunlight. We ran on the beach after their ceremony and reveled in their union and commitment together.
