Spiritual Companionship

Now accepting new seekers

How do you connect with what is sacred to you? What do you most deeply long for?

Spiritual Companionship, known by many as Spiritual Direction, is an offering of accompaniment and witnessing one’s journey with the Divine, however they personally experience and name the mystery of existence. Held in a similar one-on-one confidential container as psychotherapy or life coaching, Spiritual Companionship is oriented towards supporting a Seeker’s wholeness, inner freedom, and deepening in relationship with whatever one considers Sacred; it is the process of sitting with another as they take a “long, loving look at the Real,” whether that Real of Real is considered the Universe, Allah, Tao, science, Spirit, the earth, natural world, many gods, God, or nothing at all. It is a reverent and invitational space for questioning, discernment, celebration, creativity, embodiment, grief, hope, and grappling in the spheres of spirituality, identity, and belonging in this life. As the companion, I do not have answers, but I can offer a time of thick listening, contemplative interludes of silence, and wonder-based questions. I come into sessions with a belief that what you are seeking is within you and that learning to trust yourself (and the Spirit alive within you) is some of the greatest work of our lives. Whether you are deconstructing your faith of origin or constructing a new framework of intentionality and ritual in your life, Spiritual Companionship is a container of hospitality for anyone who wishes to inhabit their “one wild and precious life” with devotion, depth, trust, and curiosity.

  • I have deep care and passion for working with folks who are queer and trans, grappling with their faith of origin, considering new tattoos or processing old tattoos, integrating mystical and/or psychedelic experiences, discerning their relationship to alcohol and other intoxicating substances, looking to connect their spirituality to embodiment practices, or who are exploring new spiritual identities. Please note I am not a therapist and I am not trained in counseling people through depression or suicidal thoughts, however, folks who are experiencing mental health challenges are absolutely welcome in my space - I just ask that you are also seeing a therapist simultaneously.

  • I am a 500 hour Certified Yoga Teacher and can offer breathwork, movement, and yoga asana as support in sessions for those who desire it!

  • Sessions are held either once a month for 60 minutes or twice a month for 30 minutes and can be held in person, on zoom, or over the phone. All in-person sessions take place on occupied Kumeyaay land (San Diego) and unfortunately require folks to be able to walk up stairs - accommodations can gladly be made.

  • Regular sessions are $40-105 sliding scale for an hour, $25-70 for a half hour. Initial intake hour sessions are $35-65. Seasonal packages can be bought for $180-375 for four sessions, meant to carry you through a specific season and it’s challenges (ie, the rich dark of winter or the glorious hectic of summer).

This container is open to all, and I honor the racial, sexual, gender, religious, and ability identities of anyone desiring this service. I personally hold identities of being queer in my gender and sexuality, neurodivergent (ADHD), white (descended from settlers primarily from England, Scotland, Ireland, and Scandinavia), able-bodied, and multi-faith; I was raised in the Presbyterian Christian church and currently practice a spiritual bouquet of Christian mysticism, yogic philosophy, queer spirituality, paganism, and animism. Currently (unfortunately), I am only able to offer sessions in English.

”It is a strange thing how sometimes merely to talk honestly of God, even it is only to articulate our feelings of separation and confusion, can bring peace to our spirits. You thought you were unhappy because this or that was off in your relationship, this or that was wrong in your job, but the reality is that your sadness stemmed from your aversion to, your stalwart avoidance of, God. The other problems may very well be true, and you’ll have to address them, but what you feel when releasing yourself to speak of the deepest needs of your spirit is the fact that no other needs could be spoken of outside of that context. You cannot work on the structure of your life if the ground of your being is unsure.” - Christian Wiman, My Bright Abyss
